"Before working with Giulio I had no idea how beneficial having a coach would be. Usually I feel like the smallest, weakest, slowest guy on the mats. Now I feel like one of the strongest guys in my weight division. It's cool to see myself getting stronger and faster even in my 30's when I know | "should* be slowing down."

MEET THE COACH

Performance Jiujitsu and submission grappling coach

Giulio La Fauci

My journey in combat sports began with karate at age 4, where I discovered my passion for coaching, reaching a high level as both a coach and practitioner at a young age. After over a decade of practicing karate, I was introduced to Brazilian jiu jitsu, and was instantly in love. But just like so many others in the sport, as I continued training and competing, I quickly realized the physical toll that it takes on us. My mission became clear – to uncover the best training methods for jiu jitsu players, helping them level up their athleticism while minimizing injuries.

As I spent more time training in jiu jitsu, I quickly noticed a theme that was very different from what you see in any other sport. In the realm of combat sports, the skills coach often doubles as the strength and conditioning coach. In most other sports, athletes have access to a dedicated strength and conditioning coach who builds specialized programs to help them excel in their sport. So why didn’t jiu jitsu have the same outlook? After all, we know that it just isn’t possible to be a master coach in all areas of athletic performance, especially in a sport as complex as jiu jitsu.

I'm here to challenge the narrative that strength training is not an essential part of jiu jitsu training. I'm combining my love for coaching and jiu jitsu to help you achieve your goals both on and off the mats. I can’t wait to start working with you and watch your athleticism and game evolve!
